Moving toward chapterhood
The Central Ohio Organizing Chapter of the USGBC is well on its way to becoming a full-fledge entity. Many meetings have been taking place amongst members and Committees that are vital top getting our IRS non-profit status and sanctioning for USGBC. Our Strategic Plan meeting being held today will provide the foundation for how our chapter is to operate long term and how we can further the programs of the United States Green Building Council.
Many committee members have provided numerous hours of work to get us where we are today and I would like to acknowledge and thank each of you for all the hard work. Some committees, because of the nature of their discipline, probably have felt a little bored of directionless to date. You don't feel as if you've contributed. I'm here to tell you that your time is coming! There will be many events and planning sessions that will require the hard work and keen minds of all of you. Please be ready - we will need you.
Today's meeting is a very important step in our group becoming real. Let's work together in getting this work done today so we can move to the next phase of our ultimate goal for now - becoming a chapter. Afterword, I invite you all to join us at our mixer so we can spend some much needed time getting to know each other better and congratulating one another for a job well done.
